Dorothy Pearl McWhorter died early Saturday morning, August 8, 2009, at Heritage Oaks Care Center in Corsicana. She was born in Waxahachie to J.E. and Lulu Harper McWhorter, and had lived in this area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, J.E. McWhorter Jr., and a sister, Mattie Aday and her husband Marvin. She is survived by her sister Charleene Pitts and her husband Bill, three nieces and two nephews.

A Family Graveside service was held on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Oak Branch Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
