Dorothy Horne, formerly of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, July 21, 2006 at Christian Care Center in Mesquite, Texas. She was born in Ellis County to J. William Smith and Lee Nora (Howell) Smith. Dorothy was one of eleven children. She was a faithful member of the Fidelis Sunday school class of First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie. She was employed for several years as a seamstress with Taylor Of Texas.

She is survived by her son, Larry Horne and wife Kay and her daughter Carolyn Boucher, both of Garland, Texas. Grandchildren include Cameron and Michael Boucher, Steven Horne and Travis Horne and wife Renee. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with many friends. Her husband Charlie Horne preceded her in death in 2003. They had been married for 66 years.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 PM Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will at 10 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in the Ida Pierce Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin, Waxahachie, Texas with Reverend Glen Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Courtyard Activity Fund at Christian Care Center, 1000 Wiggins Parkway, Mesquite, Texas.
