Dorothy Louise Davis, age 86

Mrs. Davis passed away Monday afternoon at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie. Dorothy (Dot) was born in Waxahachie one of seven children to Arthur and Allie Hunt. She attended Waxahachie High School and married Charles E Davis in Waxahachie, Texas in 1942. She was a waitress for 17 years at Gressett's Cafe on the Square in Waxahachie. Dot was also a nanny raising her children, her family's children, her friends children and enjoyed her time working Mothers Day Out (Funday School) at First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She is survived by: one son Charles E Davis Jr and his wife Cheryl Kay of Pasadena, TX, two daughters; Dorothy J Davis, Sharon A Lewis and her husband Jerry both of Waxahachie, 2 sisters; Hattie Maxwell of Waxahachie and Mary Sheffield and her husband Theron of Austin, Tx. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son James (Jimbo), 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Galloway Officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be: Carl Lewis, Jimmy Davis, John Rodgers, Scott Otto, Hayden Allred, Mick Justice. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the First United Methodist Church.
