Doris M. McAlpin, 83 of Midlothian, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. She was born to the late James G. and Mary Hooper Erby on June 8, 1925 in Itasca, Texas
Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Midlothian. She enjoyed visiting and talking to people, shopping and eating out. She loved her family and was very devoted to them. Doris loved taking care of her family, especially Gene. She and Gene married April 8, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Itasca and they were blessed with 59 loving years together. She will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene McAlpin of Midlothian; her sons, David McAlpin and his wife, Patricia, Jerry McAlpin of Midlothian; her sister, Frances Cook of Centerville; she is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Dustin McAlpin, Holly McAlpin, Gabriel Soto, Thomas Wade; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Wynell Faulknor; and by 2 brothers, Clifford Erby, Duward Erby; and by her parents.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Allyson Paxton officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Peak Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
