Doris A. Holson, 81 of Midlothian, formally of Cuero, Texas passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Barney & Winnie McBride Aldis on February 17, 1927 in Cuero, Texas
Doris was an amazing quilter and enjoyed donating her quilts to charity and fundraisers. She enjoyed interior decorating and gardening. Doris never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she went. She was a permenant fixture at the Landmark Restuarant in Cuero. She frequented the restuarant so often that the cook would call Doris and tell her what was on the menu for the day and often took her request to fix one of her favorite dishes. She will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Don Holson and his wife, Janice of Midlothian; sisters, Bernice Junker and her husband, Jack of Sequin, Faye Egg of Cuero, Sybil Gruetzmacher and her husband, Willie of Houston; she is also survived by step grandchildren, Mason Lee & Katrina Lee and numerous neices and nephews.
Memorial services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Midlothian under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
