Donna Marie Yates, born October 19, 1944, of Waxahachie, entered eternal life July 13, 2015. Her spirit is carried on by her mother, 3 boys, 6 grandchildren, 1 sibling and extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. Donna graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1963 and attended Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie. She was a devoted member of the Oak Cliff Assembly of God Church for many years. Donna was a resident of Waxahachie for the past 15 years and attended First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie. Her passions included ice skating, snow skiing, baking and being the number one fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing these passions with her boys and grandkids. Donna loved her home and family and enjoyed raising and loving her three adventurous boys. Donna is survived by her sons, Gregg Yates and his wife, Cristy of Dallas, Brad Yates and his wife, Lorinda of Waxahachie and Eric Yates and his wife, Jil of Frisco; her mother, Joanna Muir of West Tawakoni; her brother, Donald Muir and his wife, Beth of St. Petersburg, Florida; her grandchildren, Kaily, Brooke, Grayson, Jack, Isabella and Gavin; her cousin, Charles Brown, Jr. of Wichita Falls; her aunts, Dorris Green of Mesquite and Alberta Brown of West Tawakoni. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Donald Muir and Vera Ashford Muir. Donna lived a long full life, a Blessed life, surrounded by a great family and many special friends. We miss her but it is good to know where she is and that we will meet again. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.
