Jean Lloyd

Donna “Jean” Lloyd passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Italy, Texas at the age of Seventy.

Jean was born in Dallas, Texas on March 31, 1953, and was a loving wife to husband, Danny, for Forty-Seven years. They raised their family in rural Waxahachie in a home they built themselves in 1979 and still own today. After taking time to care for her young children, Jean went back to school where she graduated with her nursing degree from Navarro College in November 1986. She was passionate about helping others and continued nursing in elder care facilities throughout her thirty-year career. Jean was a wonderful mother, sister and grandmother and was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother Martha Maxine Kinsey Sheppard. She is survived by her husband, Danny Lloyd, of Waxahachie, Texas, daughters Carrie Morling and husband, Jared, of Powder Springs, Georgia, Amy Smoak of Wilmington, North Carolina, and her grandchildren who she loved dearly. She is also survived by her three sisters, Janice Cotten, Connie Warren-Hodges and Donna Cole.

The family will receive friends, family and guests to celebrate Jean’s life at 10:00 AM on October 24, 2023, with funeral and graveside services immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s honor to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation honoring veterans, first responders, and their families.
