Donald Dwane Wharton, went to be with his Lord, January 8, 2021 with complications of Covid-19. 86 years of age, born April 16, 1934 in Quanah, Tx. To parents John Franklin (A Baptist Minister) and Winnie (Hunter) Wharton. He was the oldest of five children. He went to school in Ellis County all of his school years except for grades 1 & 2. He was married to Shirley Buchanan and they had three children, Michael, Jimmy and Pamela. Donald accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, he always lived an honest, loving and giving life and had a great sense of humor, always smiling, laughing, singing and telling old stories. He worked mostly in Ellis County for various businesses. He was an artist and loved to create.
He is preceded in death by his brother Verlin Neal, Father, Mother and wife Shirley of 57 years.
He is survived by his wife Nettie McHone of seven + years, sisters Comellia Joy Teague husband Sonny, Barbara Ramsey and husband Billy, and Elena Taylor, two sons Michael and wife Brenda, Jimmy and wife Melanie and daughter Pamela Wharton. Five grand-children, eleven great grand-children and one great great grand-daughter. Four step children and their spouses, many nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
Donald and Nettie attend Farley Street Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Smith will conduct the funeral service.
Viewing will be at Wayne Boze Funeral Home from 4-7pm, Friday, January 15th, (1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business).
Graveside Service at Sardis Cemetery at 11:00 am Saturday, January 16th.
