Donald Gene Satterwhite was born December 21, 1949, in Batesville, Arkansas to James Daniel and Etta Mae Satterwhite.
He passed away on March 5, 2024. He was only 74 years of age.
Donald was the youngest of 4 children. He is survived by his sister, Brenda Abbott and husband Danny, and brother, Danny Satterwhite along with many nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his father, James Daniel, mother, Etta Mae, and sister, Mary Catherine.
Before retiring, Donald worked for Cardinal delivering pharmaceuticals.
Once retired, Donald focused on his family. He was always there to do what anyone needed him to do.
He, along with his sisters and brother-in-law, had a Hot Dog Stand in Canton. They most likely didn’t realize it at the time, but they were bonding in ways they never had before. Speaking about it to any of them always brought a smile to their faces. Little did any of them know, they were creating treasured memories that would last a lifetime.
Donald loved to cook, fish, watch old westerns, and ride around on his scooter.
He was called by some the “Mayor of Midtown.” Because he kept a protective eye on the senior apartments he resided in and the neighborhood around him.
He rode his scooter around toting treats for the neighborhood dogs and they looked forward to seeing him knowing there was a snack for them in his pocket.
His door was always open (literally) to welcome anyone that wanted to stop by and say “hi”.
Donald had the biggest heart and the gentlest spirit. Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as real strength.
There are some people in life that makes you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger, and live just a little better…. That was Donald.
We will miss him terribly, but it brings peace to my heart knowing that he is not in pain, and reunited with his beloved mother, sister, and the many others that were waiting for him at the gates of heaven with Jesus.
