Donald Pope

Donald Ray Pope, 71 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Waxahachie. He was born August 30, 1947 in Lexington, TN., to Max and Georgia Pope. Don graduated high school in Potosi, Missouri and went on to join and serve in the U.S. Army. Don married the love of his life Brenda Ann Scott on August 19, 1966. After the military he attended and graduated from Northwood University. Don and his family moved to Waxahachie in June of 1980 and was the past president of the Duncanville Lions Club. He later went on to become a Certified Financial Planner and partner with Edward Jones Investments and later become a senior VP for Raymond James Investments. He will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Pope, by his son Jeffrey Pope; Son and daughter in law: Jonathan & Jennifer Pope; Grandson: Chase Pope and his mother Georgia Pope. He was preceded in death by his father Max Pope and one brother Tommy Pope.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Avenue Church in Waxahachie with Pastor David Brown and Brother Shannon Hopkins officiating.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 9:30 am Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
