Donald New

Donald Richard New, 67, was Promoted to Glory on May 31, 2016 at his home in Waxahachie, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Salvation Army Camp Hoblitzelle Chapel in Midlothian, Texas. Major James Taylor will officiate. Interment to follow.

Donald was born on June 22, 1948 in Roswell, New Mexico to Robert Richard and Dorothy (Anderson) New.

Mr. New was a third generation member of The Salvation Army. Having previously owned two businesses in Alabama as a licensed and certified General Contractor and Master Plumber, he retired and moved to the Dallas area in 2001 to begin working for The Salvation Army's Texas Division as the Divisional Facilities Director.

He served his country as a proud Marine during the Vietnam War. His passion in life was his work, wife, children, grandchildren and University of Alabama football.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patsy New; sons, Donald New and his wife, Kelley, and Richard New and his wife, Ruth; grandchildren, David, Dylan, Lydia, Karys, and Kaleib; and siblings, Daniel New and his wife, Sheila, Robert New, Fay Brittle, Elijah New and his wife, Cathy, Bruce New, Randy New and his wife, Theresa, and Janie Scott;

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth New.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Donald's name to The Salvation Army Dallas Area Command at 8787 N. Stemmons Fwy., Dallas, Texas 75247.
