Mr. Lucas passed away Saturday morning at Methodist Hospital of Dallas. He was born in Indianhoma, Oklahoma to T. L. & Clara Shackelford Lucus. He was a retired mechanic, horse trainer and farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He was a great Poppa to all of his grandchildren. Married Pat Rickard on July 23, 1962, lived in Midlothian for 32 years and worked for Joe Lovett Automotive in Dallas until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife: Pat Lucas of Midlothian, Tx.; 1 son & daughter in law: Donnie and Delene Lucas of Venus, Texas.; 1 daughter: Betty Lucas and Jason of Midlothian, Tx; 2 Brothers: Jammie Lucus of Hydro, Oklahoma and Frank Lucus of Hobart, Oklahoma; 3 Sisters: Anna Lou Stephens of Alfalfa, Okl., Cora Adams of Hobart, Okl., Sally Livermore of Frederick, Okl., 5 Grandchildren: Brandi, Donnie, Justin, Tiffany and Wyatt. He was preceeded in death by his parents: 2 Brothers: Shorty and Albert Lucus and 1 Grandson: Dalton Lucas.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Monday, March 31, 2003 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 01, 2003 at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County with Rev. Gary Morgan officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Chestnut, Steve Massey, Dennis Prather, Brent Hammons, Tommy Jobe and Nathan Bennett. Interment will follow at the Venus Cemetery in Venus, Texas.
