Donald Ray Riddle, age 61

Mr. Riddle, lifetime Italy resident, passed away Thursday at Baylor Medical Center Dallas. He was born in Italy to Raymond and Annie Lou (Hamby) Riddle. After graduating from Italy High School in 1961, Don attended John Tarleton at Stephenville for two years, then joined the US Air Force in 1963 and was discharged in 1967. After serving in the military, he was an employee of Bell Helicopter for a short time. Don was a life long successful farmer in the Italy area, where folks looked up to him in the community. He married Nelda Maxwell on June 7, 1986 in Italy. Don was a past member of the Italy School Board and the South Ellis County Water Board. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

Survivors are: his wife, Nelda Maxwell Riddle of Italy; mother, Annie Lou Hamby of Waxahachie; sons, Clint Alan Riddle and Brenda Pierce and her children, Abby and Nolan Griffith, all of Italy, Curtis Ray Riddle and Michele of Milford; daughter, Carrie Jean Riddle Boucher and Cody of Stephenville; step daughters, Teresa Powers and husband John of Little Rock, AR., and Lori Pendleton also of Little Rock; brother, Alvin Riddle and his wife Elaine of Grandview; grandchildren, Clay Alan Riddle, Courtney Lynn Riddle, Cole Garrett Boucher and Alec Grisham; nephew, Kelly Riddle and wife Kristi; niece, Jennifer Krause and husband Steffen; uncle, Charles W. Riddle of Italy; and the mother of his children, LaNelle Riddle of Whitney. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Riddle and stepfather, Edward Plumoff.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday in the Italy Chapel, 161 W. Main, Italy, Tx.. The Celebration of his Life will be 2:30 PM Sunday, May 22, 2005 also in the Italy Chapel with Larry Poarch and Carson Hastings officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Sparks, Victor Cvikel, Rufus Whitehead, Paul Boyd, Jerry Cockerham and John Powers. Interment will follow in the Italy Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
