Don E. Hinde, 87 of Maypearl, passed away peacefully in his home on April 14, 2022. He was born in Palo Pinto county on January 7, 1935 to the late Charles and Reta Hinde.
Don graduated from Crane High school where he played football. After graduating he joined the Navy where he served 4 years. He met his wife, Marcene, in McCamey, Texas. They were married on March 31, 1961. They lived in Monahans, Texas where they had their first daughter, Danette, on January 11, 1962. During this time Don worked as a roughneck in the oil field. After a few years there, Don and his family moved to Addison, Texas, and then moved again to Waxahachie, Texas where he worked for Larkin for a short time. Here he and Marcene welcomed their son, Keith, on February 20, 1964, and their second daughter, Sondra, on September 7, 1965. The family then finally moved to Maypearl, Texas where they would settle for the years to come. Don enjoyed spending time with family, which included his grandchildren Ashley and Matt. Don (Pepaw) taught his grandson Matt all about golf, which has led Matt to make a career of it. After retiring from General Dynamics in 1994, he made many memories with his wife, Marcene, traveling to all different places all across the country. Don was a member of the Maypearl Church of Christ. There he and Marcene made lifelong friends with Gail and Jim Evans, Joyce and Roy Harris, and Sondra and Jimmy Ledbetter. “The Gang '' spent many hours of laughter, traveling, playing Farkle, and having fellowship together.
