Dixie Willene Dunavant was born on August 4, 1929 at Rockett, Texas. She passed away on September 6, 2007 at the age of 78. She lived in Hillsboro for 22 years where she worked as an aide for In Home Health Care. She later moved to DeSoto, Texas in 1983 and finally settled in Red Oak, Texas in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter A. (Gibb) Dunavant; her mother, Mary (Sanderson) Dunavant; and her brother, Walter C. (Sonny) Dunavant.

She is survived by: her sister-in-law, Janie Dunavant; nieces, Mary Dunavant, Margaret and Jim Wolf, Maureen and James Hutchison; nephews: Walter and Teddi Dunavant and Steven Dunavant; grand nephew, Bryan Dunavant; grand nieces, Robin Wolf, Rebekah and Patrick Johnson, Rachel Wolf, Rennah Dunavant and Kallye and Seth Sellers; uncle and aunt, Walter Dan (Buddy) and Odelle Sanderson.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Red Oak Funeral Home with graveside services at 11 AM Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Bells Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
