Diva Leontina (D’Aguiar) Fiedler was born in New York to Caesar D’Aguiar and Mary Small. Her father passed away when she was 7, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, along with her two sisters, Arlette and Cecelia. At a dance in New York, Diva met the love of her life and future husband, Millard Fiedler, a farm boy from Ohio, who was a Sergeant in the Air Force stationed in Fresno, California. They were married in Los Angeles, California in 1945. They moved to Chicago where they had two children, Robert Fiedler and Jean Fiedler Consalus. In 1952, they built their own home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Mill and Diva lived in Glen Ellyn until 1982 when he retired and they moved to Blue Eye, Missouri on Table Rock Lake. They were members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson. In 1992, after 47 happy years of marriage, Millard passed away and Diva continued living in Blue Eye. In 2018, she moved to Texas to ultimately stay with her daughter in Waxahachie, where for the last 2-1/2 years she received wonderful assisted care from Bristol Hospice. On January 16, 2025, at almost 101 years of age, Diva passed peacefully.
Diva is predeceased by her parents, her husband Mill, her sister Arlette Teora, and her son-in-law Fred Consalus. She is survived by her sister Cecelia Mattick, son Robert Fiedler, daughter Jean Consalus, and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Consalus (wife Shannon), Lisa Vail (husband Brandon), and Cynthia Forsythe (husband Jason). Diva had 7 Great-Grandchildren, Brandon Consalus, Kaylee Consalus Kepler (husband Matthew), Corrigan Consalus, Legend Vail, Elle Forsythe, Ian Forsythe, and Isla Forsythe. Diva had 1 Great-Great Grandchild, Waylon Kepler. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Part of Diva’s legacy comprises five total generations, with 100 years between her and her Great-Great Grandchild. She and her husband Millard had an extremely strong work ethic and always stood up for what was right and honest over the years. Diva will long be remembered as a loving, independent, and extremely strong-willed Mother, Grandmother, and Matriarch of the family.
The entire family is blessed to have had her with us so long.
