Dionicio Lozano

January 30, 1926 — September 7, 2020

Waxahachie

Dionicio Lozano Sr. age 94 was called home on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Dionicio “Nicho” Lozano was born on January 30, 1926 to Francisco Lozano and Estefanita Perez in Crestonio Texas.

He served in the US Military in both the Air Force and the Army fighting in WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was our Hero.

Dionicio would retire to Waxahachie where he would reside for over 48 years.

Dionicio was a jokester. He always wanted to make people laugh by pulling a little prank or telling them a joke. When you asked him “how do you feel?” he would respond “with my hands”.

He loved to sing and dance to his mariachi music.

Dionicio was a storyteller. He was someone who would be waiting on the porch for you when you said you were on your way. He always had a story to tell about the army, growing up or boxing. Any chance he had to sit with you and just talk he would. He never went to a birthday party or cookout without his Polaroid. He loved sharing stories of his past and how much he loved his wife whom he always talked about reuniting with.

The grandkids thank you for the laughs, for the summer mornings on the porch, the days picking pecans in the backyard, the rides in your truck. We love you and we miss you.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Olga Lozano five brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by six children, Dionicio Lozano Jr. and Sylvia Wamsley of Waxahachie; Carlos Lozano; Diana Lozano of Dallas; Cindia Garcia and husband Reynaldo of Ferris; Hector Lozano and wife Vicky of  Waxahachie; Deborah Pratt and husband Roy of Palestine; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grand children and 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters Guadalupe Lozano of Three Rivers Texas and Consuelo Gutierrez of San Antonio and one sister-in-law Melba Lozano of Lompoc California; numerous nieces and nephews.
