Denny Hatchel

Denny Thayer "Hoppy" Hatchel, age 61, passed away on November 26, 2014 in Waxahachie. Denny was born on June 28, 1953 to Johnnie T. Hachel and Vivian L. Sisson in Dallas. He worked and retired from Austin Bridge and Road after 42 years of service. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Lancaster and a longtime member of The Masonic Lodge. He taught Awanas at church for many years. Denny was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jack Nanny; and one daughter, Heather Provorse. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hatchel of Waxahachie; one son, Doyle Boughton of Waxahchie; two daughters, Cathy Nanny Bates of Waxahchie and April Boughton of Fort Worth; two brothers, Benny Hatchel and his wife, Valorie, of Waxahachie and John Hatchel and his wife, Becky, of Blooming Grove; two sisters, Evelyn Dodson and her husband, Don, of Chandler and Kay Haywood of Ben Wheeler; and eight grandchildren. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Hutchins located at 204 W. Athens Street in Hutchins with Rev. Paul Gilbreath officiating. Visitation for family and friends will from 6-8 pm Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business in Waxahachie.
