Dennis E. Goldsberry, age 66, of Red Oak, TX, passed away on October 24th, 2020 in Mansfield, TX after losing a tiresome battle with IPF. God knew the pain we would endure but knew Dennis was ready to come home.
Dennis E. Goldsberry was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Robert Claire Goldsberry and Sylvia May Collins on May 13th, 1954. He went to school at Ottumwa High School. He married Kathy L. Dittmer on October 20th, 1979 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He worked as a repair technician at Excel Communications for 16 years which is what brought him down to Texas. Once “retired” he worked part time at CVS Pharmacy where he quickly became a favorite cashier by the staff and customers.
Dennis loved Colorado and someday we will take him back to the place he loved. He created quite the collection of Denver Bronco memorabilia. He loved the mountains and enjoyed taking visitors on very adventurous tours. Once work brought him and Kathy to Texas his days were filled with love from family and grandkids that quickly took all of his attention. Being a Grandpa was one of his greatest joys.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Sylvia Goldsberry; and his sisters Karen K. Goldsberry, Darlene Martin, and Claressa Rhodes.
Dennis is survived by wife Kathy Goldsberry of Red Oak, TX, daughter Jennifer Scheer and her husband Cory Scheer of Midlothian, TX, son Jeremiah Goldsberry of Waxahachie, TX, brothers Keith Goldsberry of Rock Island, IL and Larry Goldsberry of LeClaire, IA, and grandchildren Zachary Scheer, Kyle Scheer, Summer Goldsberry, Landon Goldsberry, Lilly Goldsberry, and Spencer Goldsberry.
