Mrs. Smith passed away Monday at the Pleasant Manor Health and Rehab Center, Waxahachie. She was born in West, Texas to Hughes and Sally (Doegg) Trammel. She was raised in West, graduated from West High School, and married Earl Smith in Waco in 1940. Mrs. Smith moved to Waxahachie in 1941 where she was employed for over forty years as final inspector for Haggar Slacks, later Band Man. She was a member of the Waxahachie Rebbekah Lodge. Mrs. Smith was baptized in the Brazos River around Waco and was a longtime active member of the Farley Street Baptist Church.

Her survivors include: daughter, Earline Gosa of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Michael and Susan Brown, and Kendric and Terresa Brown; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a loving church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Old Farley Street Baptist Church (111 Farley St.). Pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Kendric Brown, Travis Brown, Jason Brown, Dustin Brown, and Jimmy Atkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Atkinson, Jesse Owens and Gene Saunders. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery.
