Dee Whitmire

Dee Dale "Beetle" James Whitmire, 57 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Dallas. He was born August 21, 1959 in Las Vegas, NM.

Dale, most popularly known as Beetle, was in the Navy for 9 years working flight deck on the USS Guadalcanal and the USS Kittyhawk. During that time he was on the USS Kittyhawk Rodeo Team and rode bulls and saddle bronc. He loved fishing and camping. New Mexico was his favorite place to be. The light of his life was his grandson and he loved taking him everywhere.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy Whitmire; his daughter, Audrey Tello; his grandson (his pride and joy), Joaquin Tello of Waxahachie; his brothers, Mario Whitmire and his wife, Terry of Duncanville, Daniel Whitmire and his wife, Tamara of Plano; nieces and nephews, April White, Eric Whitmire, Shaena Whitmire, Amanda Fastle, Victoria Whitmire and Lauren Whitmire; and other numerous nieces and nephews in New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Emily Whitmire.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

A rosary prayer service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 with visitation for family and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
