Deborah "Debbie" Lynn McDonald, 56, of Red Oak TX, passed away at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waxahachie after a lengthy illness on December 4, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Debbie was born in Houston, Texas on September 19, 1966, to Ronald and Linda Reaves. She attended elementary school at Tehran American School in Tehran, Iran where she lived with her parents and sister, Kelly, until they fled the country during the Revolution in December of 1978. She and her family then made their home in Waxahachie, Texas where she attended school and ultimately graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1985.
Debbie was employed by the Army, Airforce Exchange Service (AAFES) where she jumpstarted a 30-year career in the warehouse in 1986 and retired in 2016 as a Replenishment and Inventory Analyst.
In 1987, Debbie met and married Gayle McDonald and in 1989, gave birth to the best child in the world, Joshua McDonald (Josh wrote that part).
Debbie enjoyed many hobbies that included, reminiscing about their family time spent living in Iran, fishing in the Caspian Sea and skiing the beautiful mountains in Iran. After retirement, she was able to spend more time doing what she loved: fishing, camping, cooking, drinking her Pepsi, collecting Pepsi memorabilia, watching Survivor and cooking and crime shows. She also enjoyed eating at her favorite restaurants, Catfish King, Red Lobster and her favorite Iranian restaurant in Richardson, Texas. She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time watching cartoons and playing legos with her favorite niece, Ariel.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Linda Reaves of Red Oak, Texas; her Maternal Grandparents, Clifford and Beulah Sue Burnett (Richardson) of New Boston, Texas; and by her Paternal Grandparents Myron and Mary Jo Reaves (Knight) of Sheridan, Arkansas.
Debbie is survived by her son, Joshua McDonald of Red Oak, Texas; Sisters - Kelly Reaves of Red Oak, Texas, and Lindsey Derry (and husband, Ronald) of Clinton, Oklahoma; Niece, Ariel Derry of Clinton, Oklahoma; Nephew, Gavin Reaves (and wife, Michaela) of Ft. Worth; Stepmother, Judy Reed-Reaves of Arlington, Texas; Uncle, Kenneth Burnett of Texarkana, Texas; Aunt, Pansy Windham (Brantley), of Citrus Springs, Florida; Long-time best friend, Donna James, of Cedar Hill, Texas and by a multitude of cousins in Cedar Hill, Texas and in the Citrus Springs, Florida area, along with many life-long special friends.
