Deborah Benner

Deborah Elizabeth Benner, 61 of Garrett, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Jack Steele and Stella Rubble Steele on September 22, 1951 in Waxahachie. Deborah loved to play Bingo and loved her dogs. She worked as a CNA and loved nursing. Deborah was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Waxahachie and she will be missed by so many friends and all of her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Harold Benner of Garrett; her children, Brenda Arevalo of Garrett, Teresa Burch and her husband, George of Haynesville, LA, Bryan Hicks and his wife, Wendy of Waxahachie, Peggy Brooks and her husband, Chris of Ennis, Roy Brooks, Jr. of Dallas; her step son, Bobby Benner of Ennis; her brothers, JB Steele and his wife, Alice of Cedar Creek, Johnny Pat Steele of Arkansas; her sister, Ruth Beckham of Irving; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; she is also survived by her close dear friend, Willie Armstrong; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Bible Baptist Church of Waxahachie with Bro. Todd Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
