David Eugene (Gene) Woodall, age 74
December 13, 1932
April 11, 2007

Gene passed away Wednesday afternoon at Baylor Hospital in the presence of his family. He was born in Wyatt (Ellis County) to Gib and Wilma (Meeks) Woodall. He graduated from Venus High School in 1950 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Patsy Nell Eckeberger November 17, 1956 in Venus. Gene had been employed as a salesman for Sears & Roebuck for 35 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Venus Baptist Church. Gene was an avid hunter enjoying the camaraderie and outdoors. He was member and state representative of the Blue Tick Breeders and Coon Hunters Association.
Surviving him is his wife of 50 years Patsy Woodall, one sister Mary Bradley, one niece Sheila Bradley all of Waxahachie and one niece Donna Johnson and her husband Bert of Arlington, one Aunt Frances Morgan of Hillsboro. Also surviving are many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and his brother in law Don Bradley.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 14, 2007 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Walter Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in the Venus Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: James Evans, Joe Gatlin, TJ Ball, Van Ball, Bert Johnson, and Keith Ramsey. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Johnny Glass, Scott Jackson, Travis Furtick, Heath Gibson and Ken Grubbs.
The family request that memorials be made to the Charity of your Choice.
