David Ferrera

David Anthony Ferrera passed on to his eternal home Wednesday, October 22, 2014. He was born in Tuscon, AZ on September 25, 1952. He enjoyed a long career in the transportation industry where he recently celebrated 19 years with Dart Container in Waxahachie. David is survived by his mother, Faye Eastman; his children Michelle Ferrera Pearce, Monique Allen and her husband, Jonathan, Annie Ferrera, Jason Ferrera and his wife, Erin (his favorite daughter-in-law), and Laura Ferrera. He is also survived by his siblings, Marie Hector, Bud Ferrera and his wife, Esther, Gail Sortomme, Debra Collins and her husband, Robert, Dale Eastman and his wife, Jeanne, Beth Dalton and her husband Scott. He is also survived by his four precious grandchildren, Sara, Jacob, Dakota, and Michael; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Everett Eastman and his father, Manuel Ferrera. David was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather. He was also a man of great faith, character and integrity who believed "whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men" (Col. 3:23). He was full to overflowing with the joy of the Lord that was felt by everyone he came in contact with. He never wasted a compliment or an opportunity to affirm others. He will be greatly missed. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Highway 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
