David Alexander Cantu, age 37
September 14, 1971

Mr. Cantu passed away early Tuesday morning at his residence in Waxahachie. David was born in Waxahachie to Andrew Cantu Jr. and Carolina Casarez Cantu. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1990 where he was a member of the Football team and numerous other clubs and organizations. David married Monica Luna November 20, 1999 in Waxahachie and had been a Glass cutter for Fashion Glass and Mirror of DeSoto before his illness. David was an avid Cowboy fan.

He is survived by his wife Monica of Waxahachie, his daughter Jessica Martinez of Austin, his sister Vicki Dawson and her husband Troy of Waxahachie, his sister in law Nell Cantu of Waxahachie, Nieces and nephews; Jake Green, Andy Cantu IV, Julian Luna, Haley Dawson, Lydsey Dawson, and Victoria Savala. Also surviving are numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Kim Pitner and George Solis officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Gilbert Davila, Andy Hixenbough, Gregg Savala, Monty Woodley, Anthony Cantu and Troy Dawson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the 1990 WHS Football Team.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
