Mr. Shasteen passed away at his home Saturday, February 14, 2009.

Dausey Ray Shasteen, known as Ray to his family, was born to Dausey and Mary Goforth Burchell Shasteen in Marion, IL. He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Horan and her husband Davis of Waxahachie, Texas, Mary Williams and her husband Terry of Benton, IL.; sons, Lendall Barker of Waxahachie, TX., Michael Triplett and wife Samantha of Moulton, AL.; brother, Delbert Shasteen of Knoxville, TN.; sister, Linda Hickey of Marion, IL.; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and two aunts who raised him.

"Our Dad was a big hearted and kind man who never met a stranger. He loved to joke and tease everyone he knew. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends."

Ray worked at International extrusion for 19 years, where he was known as "Pop's". He retired in 2006.

It was his wishes that he be cremated and taken home to be buried in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery, Marion, IL.. Services will be held at a later date.

The family is asking everyone to donate money, in lieu of flowers, to the Heart Association in his memory.
