Mr. Spratlen passed away early Tuesday morning at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born in Abilene, TX. to W. H. and Dorothy (Johnson) Spratlen, Jr. Mr. Spratlen attended schools in Abilene and Dallas. He and Joyce Andrus were married in Duncanville December 7, 1996. He had been employed as a sales rep for Quality Cabinets (Texwood Industries) in Duncanville since the early 1970's. He moved from Cedar Hill to Midlothian five years ago and was a member of the Midlothian Bible Church. His whole life was his relationship with his Lord and family. He was a creative craftsman loving woodwork, also loved studying the Bible and enjoyed prophecy.

Mr. Spratlen is survived by: wife, Joyce Spratlen of Midlothian; mother, Dorothy Lang of Wills Point; three sons, Steven Spratlen and Austin Spratlen, both of Midlothian and Ronald Andrus and wife Jennifer of Dawson; two daughters, April Keeping and husband Joseph of Mesquite and Peggy Duron and husband George of Midlothian; one brother, Ronald D. Spratlen and wife Jean of Waxahachie, uncle and aunt, Ryal and Faye Spratlen of Houston; three sisters, Judy Hornaday and husband Bill of Shelbyville, TN., Sylvia Autrey and Pansy Spratlen both of Wills Point; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Duron; four grandsons, Justin, Carter and Dakota Andrus and Santiago Duron. He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:30 PM Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Midlothian Bible Church with Dr. Dave Wyrtzen officiating. Interment will follow at Mobley Family Cemetery in Cedar Hill.
