On September 20, 2023, Darlene Green Kirchen, surrounded by her family, was called home by our Heavenly Father.
Darlene was born to Cecil Hanson Green and Flora Lee Green on October 13, 1946 along side her twin sister, Charlene Small.
Darlene was a lifelong resident of Waxahachie, Texas. She was a member of Pathways Baptist Church (Farley Street). She graduated from Waxahachie High School where she was a member of the Indian Band, Baton Twirler and Sr. Lieutenant for the Cherokee Charmers drill team.
Darlene was a self-employed Beautician. She retired at the age of 73 from Head Rush Salon in Waxahachie. Doing hair was her passion and truly loved making women feel beautiful. She was a joyful person, always smiling and loved to shop. She knew the latest styles and trends. She always had her hair fixed, makeup on, with the best shoes and the best matching outfits. She was one-of-a-kind and a true gem.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Darla (Richard) Stapleton; son, Daryl (Terri) Jackson; sister, Charlene Small; nephew, Bryan Autrey; niece, Christie Autrey; grandchildren, Nikki (Curtis) Farmer, Megan (DJ) Joos, Chelsey (Colton) Ferguson, Brittany (Mike) Jones and Bradley (Ashley) Stapleton; great grandsons, Dyson Leach, Jennings Farmer, Durham Joos, Porter Jones, and River Stapleton; great granddaughters, Dylanie Leach, Katelynn Farmer, and Whitley Ferguson; and numerous great nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father Cecil Hanson Green, mother Flora Lee Green, and brother Daniel Earnest Green.
Darlene “Nana” loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Pathways Baptist Church, 1116 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
