Our beloved husband, Daddy and Daddy Dan went home to be with our Savior, Wednesday, January 26, 2005. He was the son of Rev. C. B. and Clora E. (Barron) Stanley-president of the Texas Baptist Home for 50 years. He moved to Waxahachie in 1938, graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1945 and served in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Stanley married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Fannie Mae Lohr, June 1, 1946 in Waxahachie.
His love of God and church music, led him to be the Music Director at Grace Temple Baptist Church, Greenville; Park Street Baptist Church, Greenville; Terrace Hills Baptist Church, Longview; First Baptist Church, Commerce; Heritage Baptist Church and Farley Street Baptist Church.
He sang "The Lord's Prayer" at all his grandchildren's weddings. Mr. Stanley was awarded the Theodore N. Vail metal for saving a woman from a burning car. He received "Deacon Emeritus" honor from Heritage Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Stanley's hobbies included outside activities such as hunting and fishing. In later years he did model airplane building and crafted many furniture articles, gun stocks and knives.
Mr. Stanley is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Fannie Mae Stanley of Waxahachie; son, Paul Stanley and JaLonn of Trophy Club, TX.; daughters, Danna Cash and Ken of Saint Jo, TX., and Karen Denney and David of Murchison, TX.; brother, David Stanley and Sue of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Stacy Trasancos and Jose, Tim Denney and Linette, Kenda Cash Dodson, Kevin Cash, Cherish Stanley, Ashley Jobe, Kristen Stanley, and Daniel Stanley; great grandchildren, Regan Collard, Cameron and Connor Denney, Max Johnson, McKenzy Crabb and Alex Jobe, Jordan and Dyllan Fronterhouse, Abigail and Grace Trasancos, and Jayden Dodson; sisters-in-law, Mary Stanley, Lou Eva Stanley, Wanda Stanley; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard, Bruce and Ted.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 1 PM Saturday, January 29, 2005, at the Farley Street Baptist Church with Reverend J. D. Courtney and Reverend Richard Smith officiating. Music recorded of Mr. Stanley's singing will be played prior to and at the end of the service reflecting his love of music.
Pallbearers will be Tim Denney, Daniel Stanley, Lynn Stanley, Charles Green, Andy McCuistion, Scott Stanley, Karl Pace, Troy McGinnis, Kris Dodson and Jim Klein. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sunday School Class Members of the Mixed Up Sunday School Class, Dee Chapman, Willard Gandy, Johnny Briggs, Charles Berry, Dale Patterson, Michael Hilsher, Mark Hilsher,Bill Hyman and Mark Chapman. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
