Daniel Solis

Daniel Vasquez Solis April 25, 1937 January 20, 2011 Daniel Vasquez Solis, 73 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born to the late Hilario and Leocadia V. Solis on April 25, 1937 in Kerens, Texas. Daniel was a loving husband, father and grandfather, known as Papaw or Pops. He worked for Flexsteel, Tyler Refrigeration, WISD and various other places. He was a hard and dedicated worker. Daniel was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista of Waxahachie. He loved sports and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved the outdoors, walking, riding his bike and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret Solis of Waxahachie; his sons, Daniel Jr, and Julie Solis of Waxahachie, Alexander Roy and Tiffany Solis of Mesquite, Scott A. and Debbie Solis of Hawkins; his daughters, Debbie and Gilbert Bravo of Waxahachie, Leslie and Justin Barrera of Waxahachie; his brothers, Rev. George and Martha Solis of Waxahachie, Tom and Elba Solis of Farmers Branch, John and Betty Solis of Waxahachie, Ruben Solis of Waxahachie, Sam Solis of Carrolton; his sisters, Lydia and Herman Martinez of Waxahachie, Martha and Augustine Iglesias of Carrolton, Rachel and Rudy Hernandez of Waxahachie, Ruth and Joe Lopez of Corsicana, Naomi and Gilbert Martinez of Waxahachie; Mary and Manuel Ruiz of Carrolton; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Hilary, and Gilbert Bravo, Javier, Austin, and Hannah Solis, Gabrielle Munoz, Andrew and Chloe Solis; Jabez, Savannah, and Josiah Solis; and 1 great grandchild, Caiden Alvarado; his sister in law, Antonia Martinez; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Benjamin and his sister, Sarah. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Waxahachie with Rev. George Solis, Rev. Rudy DeLeon and Rev. Marvin Majors officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 with a service of remembrance beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
