Dana Lee Thorn, age 80

Mrs. Thorn passed away Tuesday at the Balch Springs Nursing Home. She was born in Ballinger, TX. to Luther and Nellie Mae (Riddle) Jett. She was raised in Red Oak and married Wilburn L. Thorn October 6, 1941 in Waxahachie. Mrs. Thorn was a family person, raising five children, and was a homemaker in her home.

She is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Rita Thorn of Gilmer, Larry and Nancy Thorn of Fairview, Jerry and Tammy Thorn of Kaufman; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Arie of Balch Springs; daughter-in-law, Gina Thorn of Grandview; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Melvin Thorn; brothers, Ed and James Jett; sisters, Cecil Blackerby and Betty Jett.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM graveside services Saturday, March 12, 2005 in the Red Oak Cemetery. Interment will follow.
