Cynthia West

Cynthia Florine West, 98 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Thomas Franklin Youngblood and Lilly Bessie Green Youngblood on June 24, 1914 in Avalon. Florine was a homemaker and seamstress and taught expression in the 1930s at Trinity University. She loved serving and caring for those around her. She was an avid reader and gardener. She was a faithful member of Ferris Heights United Methodist Church and witnessed her love of God to those she met every day. Florine was married to Mitchell West on October 10, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mitchell; 5 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughters, Caroline and husband, Hugh Fullerton of Corsicana; Suzy and husband, Preston (Jim) Hall of Waxahachie; her granddaughter, Bobbette and husband, Elbert Butler of Frost; grandsons, Brian and Robin Hall of Groesbeck; Scott and Trisha Hall of Ft. Worth; great granddaughters, Brett Caroline Schmidt and husband, Randy of Frost, Bailey Hall of McKinney; and great grandsons, Trevor and Tanner Hall of McKinney. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers include, Bobby West, Bobby Berna, Elbert Butler, Brian Hall, Scott Hall and Rusty Mancill. Her nephews will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
