Conard Yeats

October 18, 1933 — December 5, 2024

Waxahachie, Texas

Conard was born on October 18, 1933. He passed into the loving arms of our Savior on December 5, 2024, at the age of 91. He was the 10th child of a Denton County sharecropper during the depths of the Great Depression. His family moved from Frisco to Marshall County, Oklahoma, in 1938. He was raised and educated in Oklahoma.

In 1952, he married his childhood neighbor and always his best friend, LaNell Hamilton. In 1953, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. He joined Texaco Oil Company in 1957. The family moved to Waxahachie in 1970, where he established Waxahachie Tire & Oil Company, marketing Goodyear and Sinclair products.

Conard was born with a servant’s heart. He sincerely believed we should do each day the things that would make life better for our fellow man. He felt our best work was the work we do for others, for that work created memories that will last through the ages. His favorite community work was as a CASA volunteer. Conard served as a council member and in numerous other places of service, both in the City of Waxahachie and Ellis County. Conard worked hard, along with many others, to make Waxahachie a great place to live, work, and raise families. He was a Master Mason, following in the footsteps of his father. He was a Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie.

Conard is survived by his bride of 72 years and three children, DeAnna Atkinson (Jimmy), Wes Yeats (Jill), and Patricia Marshall (Mark). He is survived by one sibling, Henry Yeats. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank Lynnette and Heather with Bristol Hospice for their loving care of our precious Daddy.

A graveside service will be held at Sardis Cemetery, Friday, December 13th, at 2 p.m. Conard will rest near his three infant grandsons. Arrangements are under Wayne Boze Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to CASA of Ellis County and Campfire Creek Therapeutic Riding.

The book of Conard’s life is now complete—all the pages have been turned. His was a life well lived; his is a rest well deserved.
