Clifford William Boner Jr., age 77, passed away on January 21, 2025, at the Dallas VA Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to Clifford William Boner Sr. and Imogene Wade.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Clifford served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, earning numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart for a gunshot wound to the head. After recovering in the U.S., he was asked to reenlist, and he did, a true testament to his dedication and courage. Among his many decorations were the Vietnam Service Medal, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was a man of integrity who upheld the values of service and sacrifice throughout his life.
Beyond his military service, Clifford built a career as a framer in the homebuilding industry, leaving his mark on countless homes in the Dallas area. He was a man of simple pleasures who lived a life defined by honesty, hard work, and strong morals. An avid and honest fisherman, Clifford competed in bass tournaments—sometimes winning, though he often found himself at a disadvantage when others ignored catch-and-release rules. He refused to compromise his integrity for a prize. He was also a dedicated hunter and embraced a quiet, simplified lifestyle, always kind-hearted and steadfast in his beliefs.
Clifford shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Pamela Peterson-Boner, who remained by his side through all of life’s challenges and triumphs. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Boner & wife Carmen of Denver, Colorado, Vickie Crabtree, Cathy Boner, and John Boner, all of Dallas, Texas; his stepdaughter, Mora Hernandez & husband Julio; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandbaby; and numerous nieces and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten by those who loved him.
Clifford’s legacy of honesty, kindness, and unwavering principles will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
