Claude Charles Sexton, 87 of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 in Dallas. He was born March 11, 1930 in Jenkins, KY to the late Perry and Nola Holtsclaw Sexton.
Claude graduated from Cranberry High School in Elk Park, NC. He was a Corrugated Production Manager and was known for his ability to increase production.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very grateful for God's grace and mercy, giving Him the glory for everything. He read his Bible and prayed daily for God's will for the world. He loved the Lord, his family, extended family and friends.
He loved Gospel music, experiencing God's nature and all His glory. He loved to travel with his family. He had a green thumb and could grow beautiful flowers just as his dad did before him. He also was an excellent craftsman; he made wooden toys still treasured by his grandchildren.
He was a member of Farley Street Baptist Church and proudly served our country in the US Army, serving in the Signal Corp in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
He will be missed and continually loved.
Claude is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Sexton; his children, Claudia Sue Poe, William Sexton, Kathy Romero (Keith), Lisa Dahlgren, Cheryl Castelli (Kevin); his sister, Brenda Dawn Johns; his grandchildren, Ricky Poe, Jr., Scott Sexton (Jocelyn), Dr. Rochelle Sexton-Sisco (Jeff Sisco), Ashley Sexton-Radney (Dr. James Radney), Keith Romero, Jr. (Jessica), Michael Dahlgren, Erin Castelli, John Castelli (Amber), and Kevin Castelli, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Wesley Romero, Eli Sexton, Ian Romero, Hannah Sexton, John Ezra Castelli, and Naomi Sexton-Sisco and two on the way
.
Other Important people in his life include, Ronda and Ralph Williams, Sheri and Joel Kress, Steve and Debbie Morris and numerous other friends and family members.
He was preceded in death by Perry Sexton (father), Nola Holsclaw Sexton Woods (mother), Peary Sexton (brother), Helen Stansberry (sister), and Ruby Haire (sister).
Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Farley Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
