Claude F. (Kirk) Kirkpatrick, age 86
November 8, 1918
June 28, 2005

Kirk was born on November 8, 1918 on a farm near Maypearl to Glover and Mary Kirkpatrick. He was the sixth of eight children. He graduated from Maypearl High School in 1936 and he attended Trinity University for one year. He served in the Navy during WWII aboard the destroyer USS Benham. He received 5 battle stars, including service at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war, he worked in the automotive repair trade for 24 years. In 1969, he was the first instructor of Diesel and Automotive Mechanics at South Plains College in Levelland. He retired from SPC in 1984. He lived in Cloudcroft, New Mexico for five years, returning to Levelland in 1990. Kirk enjoyed gardening and carpentry until his health forced him to give them up, and he was always ready for a game of dominoes or "42".

Survivors include: two sons, Mike and wife Laura of Lubbock and Steve and Toni of Longview; a daughter, Kathy and husband Bill Sieling of Coppell; grandchildren, Kellye and Steven Kirkpatrick, Zach, Kirk, and Bethany Sieling and Kasey and Zane Kirkpatrick and special friend, Jo Waters of Whitharral.

Visitation for Mr. Kirkpatrick was 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. The Celebration of his Life will be 10 AM graveside services Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Maypearl Cemetery, Maypearl, Texas with Reverend Vic Dindot officiating. Interment will follow.

Memorials may be sent to the Littlefield Senior Citizens Center, Littlefield, Texas.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
