Mr. Garland, a resident of Lancaster, passed away November 7 in Arlington. He was born in Sherman, TX. to the late Raymond and Bessie Garland. He was a manager for Town and Country Furniture in Grand Prairie for many years and also served in the USMC.

His survivors include: his wife, Patsy Beaty Garland of Lancaster; daughter, Kim and her husband Richard Reek of Canton; grandchildren, Shaina Garland, Whitney Austin, Collin Reek, and Christian Harris; sister, Dorthy Ullom of Ennis; brother-in-law, Glenn Beaty and wife Carolyn, Billy Jack Beaty, Kenny Beaty; and many friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Ewell Garland.

The family will receive friends and family 6-8 PM Saturday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 2 PM Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the funeral home with Chaplain Charles Buster officiating. Interment will follow at the Bells Chapel Cemetery.
