Clarita Tapia Escobar, age 66
August 13, 1939
June 1, 2006

Mrs. Clarita (Clara) Tapia Escobar was born August 13, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006 due to complications from heart surgery. Mrs. Escobar was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waxahachie. She was preceded in death in 2002 by her loving husband of forty years, Amador Escobar. Also preceding her in death was an infant daughter San Juanita Escobar, two sisters Julia T. Romero, and Candelaria T. Ortiz, and one brother, Sotero Tapia, all of San Antonio, Texas.

She is survived by three very loving children, Diane E. Villarreal and her husband Roderick H. Villarreal, Daniel Escobar Sr., and Irene E. Contreras and her husband Willie Contreras, all of Waxahachie. Eleven grandchildren, whom she adored, also survive, Roderick Escobar and wife Mellissa, Daniel Escobar Jr., John Gabriel Villarreal, Kristopher Lee Escobar Villarreal, William John Contreras, Mark Anthony Villarreal, Samantha Christine Contreras, Joshua Andrew Contreras, Andrew Douglas Escobar, Sabrina Dann Contreras, and Matthew Christian Contreras. Also surviving are three adorable great-grandsons, Roderick, Dominick, and Samuel Escobar and one beautiful great-granddaughter, Brielle Escobar. Her survivors also include two sisters, Katarina Garza and Guadalupe Escobar and one brother, Andrew Tapia, all of San Antonio, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of great friends. One special friend, Olivia Altamina and her husband Juan of Waxahachie.

She will be greatly missed but never forgotten for all of the love and happiness she brought to all who knew her. May you rest in peace, Madre Mia.

A Rosary is scheduled for Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 5, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waxahachie, with Father Michael Guadagnoli officiating. Burial will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
