Clarence Madison Almand, Age 84
August 3, 1920
October 14, 2004

Mr. Almand passed away Thursday at Renfro Healthcare Center. He was born in Palmer, TX. to Albert Madison and Addie Elizabeth (Nix) Almand. Mr. Almand honorably served the US Army's 45th Infantry Division in France and Germany in the Rhineland and Central European battles where he was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart. He was a restaurant owner. He married Lena Dolores Calhoun on May 15, 1943 at the First Methodist Church parsonage. He was a member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church.

Mr. Almand is survived by: his wife, Dolores Almand of Waxahachie; two sons, James Madison and Beverly Almand, also of Waxahachie; R. C. and Patsy Almand of Milford; one daughter, Patricia and Charles Ashmore of Garland; sister-in-law, Margaret and Jim Pitts,; sister-in-law, Ivy Mae Almand, all of Waxahachie; five grandchildren, James and Theresa Almand, JR. of Poetry, TX., Suzanne Almand-Broad,Jeffrey and Angela Almand all of Waxahachie, Rhonda and Michael Wilkins of Italy, TX. Spec. Patrick Edward Almand with the US Army in Tikrit, Iraq; seven great grandchildren, Kyle and Jessica Wilkins of Italy, TX. Andrew Almand-Broad, David, Allison, Jacob and Megan Almand all of Waxahachie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Beauford Clark Almand.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Monday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, Brown @ Center St., Waxahachie, TX. Pallbearers will be James Almand, Jr., Jeff Almand, Patrick Almand, Michael Wilkins, Michael Brown, Charles Calhoun, and Harold Fisher. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ferris Heights Methodist Church, 108 Center St., Waxahachie, Tx. 75165
