Cipriano R. Alvarez, age 90, passed away on August 6, 2018 in Waxahachie, Texas. Visitation with the family will be observed on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business in Waxahachie.
Cipriano was born on September 27, 1927 to Florencio Alvarez and Angela Alvarez Salas in Kaufman, Texas. He served in the United States Army in the latter part of World War II and the Korean War. He was a hardworking entrepreneur. His business, RCA Service was his pride and joy. He served the Ellis County community with pride and dignity. He continued his dream of re-opening his business during his residence at Legend Oaks Nursing Home in Waxahachie. That was his ultimate aspiration. He was a strong, intelligent, self-starter with anything he attempted. He was also a God fearing, humble, reserved and very generous man. He taught his children to love the Lord, work hard, be modest and serve others. He dearly loved his wife of 55 years of marriage.
In his early years, his passionate career was the sport of Boxing. He won several awards and boxing belts during his thunder. Thereafter, he continued to love the sport of boxing until his ripe old age. He was always prepared to train any enthusiastic athlete the prized skills he had achieved in his prime. He also loved to follow his favorite NFL team, the Oakland Raiders. Some of his trivial but lovable habits were slurping hot coffee and sighing, walking in the snow, folding his napkin in a perfect square and keeping that way all throughout his entire meal and telling believable tall tales to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Florence Alvarez; daughter, Angela Alvarez Hernandez; siblings, Martin Alvarez, Paul Alvarez, Josephine Alvarez Escobar, Frank Salas and Richard Salas.
Cipriano is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ana Evelia Alvarez; children, Guadalupe Alvarez Ybarra of Dallas, TX, Robert C. Alvarez of Huntington Beach, CA, Gloria Alvarez Wilson of Corona, CA, Roberto Alvarez, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Waxahachie, TX, Luz Maria (Lucy) Alvarez Guajardo and her husband, Oscar, of Waxahachie, TX and Ana Elizabeth Alvarez Molina and her husband, Mark, of San Antonio, TX; sister, Rose Romero of Lancaster, TX; grandchildren, Ada Alvarez Fouse and husband Randy, Malissa Alvarez Albrecht and husband, Jason, Abigail Alvarez Call and husband, Andrew, Robert Alexander Alvarez, Robert Isaac Alvarez, Elizabeth Guajardo Fullington and husband, Nicholas, Victoria Guajardo Quintana and husband, Jeremy, Oscar Enrique Guajardo IV, Ethan Alvarez Molina and Yasmin Alvarez Molina; great grandchildren, Kiefer Fouse, Kloe Fouse, Tripp Call, Ezra Call and Sophia Guajardo Quintana; and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
