Christy Kim Bernard

Christy Kim Bernard, 54, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born in Denison, Iowa, on February 19, 1969.

On December 15, 1989, she married Roger Bernard in Garland, Texas. Christy dedicated her professional journey to the art of cosmetology. Beyond her career, her heart brimmed with devotion for Jesus, finding solace in the harmonies of Christian music, reading her Bible, expressing herself through dance, and cherishing moments spent with her beloved grandchildren.

Preceding her in eternal rest are Floyd and Ione Scovel of Irving, Texas and Everett and Ida Cornwell of North Buena Vista, Iowa. Christy is survived by her cherished husband, Roger Bernard of Red Oak, Texas, her loving parents, John (Jack) and Bennie Cornwell of Fort Worth, Texas, and her adored children: Jessica Johnson and her husband Alex, Jennifer Walker and her husband Michael, Brooke Bernard and her husband Noel, Brandon Bernard, and Cody Bernard. Her memory lives on through her six treasured grandchildren, Wyatt and Emma Johnson, Macie Walker, Adileigh, Madilyn and Brynlee Bernard. She is also survived by her dear sister, Julie Cornwell, and brothers, John Cornwell Jr. and Kenny Cornwell.

In her honor, the family suggests making memorial contributions to National Alliance of Mental Illness in loving memory of Christy Kim Bernard. Her legacy of love, faith, and cherished moments will forever remain in our hearts.
