Christopher Joseph "Chris" Gallegos passed away Saturday March 21st, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. Chris was born in Del Norte, Colorado on November 15th, 1961 to Tomas and Christine Gallegos.
He attended Del Norte Schools, graduating with the Class of 1981. He then attended San Juan Vocational Tech Cortez, Colorado where he received his certification as a Fitter/Welder and was ranked in the top 10 of his class. Chris was an excellent welder and took pride in his work. He was currently employed at Maverick Stainless, LLC in Dallas.
He is survived by his daughters, Krista Ramirez and Amy Gallegos of Waxahachie and Nichole Gallegos of Red Oak; his mother Christine Gallegos of Del Norte Colorado; Brothers Tom (Linda) Gallegos of Waxahachie; Mark (Trish) Gallegos of Alberquerque, NM; Sisters Debbie Hickman of Waxahachie; Sharon (Kent) Franck (USN) of Jacksonville, FL; Frances Gallegos of Alamosa Colorado; Grandchildren Marissa Alvarez, Aiden and Eian Gallegos and Analise Kemp of Waxahachie; Special friend and companion Jennifer Noe of Waxahachie as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces ,and Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Chris was the Number One Denver Broncos Fan, and the ‘Barbecue King' who enjoyed cooking on the grille while entertaining his family and friends with his quick wit and great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Tomas Gallegos; Grandparents Pete and Josie Martinez, and Stepson T.J. Vicenti.
Pallbearers, Jim Steelman, Shelby Steelman, Jimmy Steelman, Dennis Hickman, Steve Gallegos and Terry Staggs.
Visitation and Rosary will be held Wednesday March 25th 6 PM to 8 PM (Rosary at 7 PM) at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 26th at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Paul Nguyen serving as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery, Waxahachie.
Chris will be greatly missed by all who loved him. 1 Corinthians 13, 1-13
