Christopher Stephen Beard, 23 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 in Dallas. He was born to Pete and Rose Beard on March 12, 1990 in Dallas. Christopher graduated from Waxahachie High School in 2008. He was a proud member of the Spirit of Waxahachie Indian Band. He attended El Centro Community College in Dallas for a degree in Culinary Arts. He then graduated from the police academy at Navarro College in Corsicana, Tx. After working with the Police departments in Seven Points and Wortham he went to work with the Lakeview Camp and Retreat Center at Maypearl, Tx. Christopher was involved in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary at Lake Joe Pool providing safety support for the triathlons on the lake. Christopher had a unique ministry of reaching out to anyone in need whether they were youngsters or the elderly, he did what he could to assist. He also ministered to the troubled teens that were directed his way, giving them a fresh outlook on life and some a second chance. His life was cut short by a motorcycle accident. However, the wake of who he was, what he stood for, who he believed in was spread around the people he came into contact with, producing many positive effects. People's lives were changed. He is a medical donor and he will be giving a second chance of life to others. He will never be forgotten because of the life that he lived. He is survived by his parents, Pete and Rose Beard of Waxahachie; his brothers, Jon-Micheal, Alan, & Brian Beard of Waxahachie Tx; his grandparents, John and Donna Beard of Madisonville Tx., Ceaborn and Doris Evartt of Taft Tx., JoAnne George of Waxahachie Tx; uncles and aunts, Joe Beard of Corpus Christi, Tx, John Beard of Corpus Christi, Tx., Rob and Clarissa Smart of Stedman, Mo., John and Donna Wilkins of Waxahachie, Marty and Jennie Reese of Waxahachie, David and Carrie Jackson of Waxahachie; cousins, Angela (Wilkins) Diaz, Vickie Wilkins, Valerie (Reese) Armentrout, Heidi Reese, Ben Reese, Rebecca (Jackson) Loosier, Rachel (Jackson) Lyon, Stephen Jackson, Sonya Beard, Josh Beard, Melissa (Smart) Testut, Cindy Smart, Catherine (Smart) Berendzen, Mikaeyla Beard, & Charlie Beard He was preceded in death, following in Christ, Granddad Dell Ray George. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the New Life Worship Center, Waxahachie. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Lakeview Camp & Retreat Center, 5128 FM 66, Waxahachie, Texas 75167.
