Ellen Christine Gorman, age 86

Mrs. Gorman passed away early Tuesday morning at Pleasant Manor Care Center. Christine was born in Merkel, Texas to Oliver Edwin and Lieugenia (Dyess) Story. She married Harold Clinton Gorman September 29, 1937 and moved to Waxahachie in 1956. Christine was employed with Haggar Slacks for 23 years and worked in the WISD Cafeteria for 10 years. She was a long- time member of the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie and a member of the Deborah Sunday School Class. Christine loved tending to her flowers, playing 42 and playing games with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Gorman is survived by: two sons, Jesse Gorman and wife Jona of Waxahachie and Randall Gorman and wife Ping of North Richland Hills; two daughters, Lourene Pigg and husband Harold of DeSoto and Beverly Brown of Waxahachie; a twin sister, Irene Chandler of Bedford; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold,in 1975, three brothers, Elbert, Cicero and Clyde Story and three sisters, Ethel Story, Ida Mae Compton and Ruby Hayes.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Thursday, October 7, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Hayes, Alan Pigg, Bruce Thompson, Tony Gorman, Brian Gorman and Wendell Compton. Interment will follow in Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
