Charles Smith

Charles Ray Smith, 72 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away October 30, 2014 in Arlington, Texas. He was born March 19, 1942 in Paris, Texas to the late Wesley & Clara Jetton Smith. Charles live in the Dallas area all his life, he loved his family and was like a father to most that knew him. He was a mechanic; however Drag Racing was his passion in life. He was well known and respected in the racing world for his ability to drive and work on race cars. There are only two things to be said about him- good things and better things. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his wife Fern Smith of Waxahachie; Three Children: Charla & Spencer Harris of Ovilla, Texas; Gaylen & Celeste Smith of Mansfield, Texas and Kim & Michael Curtis of Midlothian, Texas. Siblings: Jimmy Smith, Janice Moreland, Charlie & Louise Feazell and Bobbie Robins; Eight Grandchildren: Stephanie McCoy, Cody Armstrong, Ashley Smith, Brandon McQueen, Casey Armstrong, Kelsi Zabonik, Krystina Zabonik and Zachary Donica. Eight Great Grandchildren: Christopher, Raegan, Cash, Layne, Kinsley, Mason, Wesley & expecting Harper. Three Step Children: Four Step Grandchildren and one step great granddaughter and countless nieces and nephews friends and loved ones. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, November 06, 2014 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Miner officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 05, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
