Charles Gordon Seymore

Charles Gordon Seymore of Sardis, Texas was born on February 14, 1939 to Rufus Eugene Seymore and Myrtle Marie Brintle.  Charles joined his Heaven Father on March 14, 2024 at the age of 85 surrounded by his daughters and granddaughter.  

Charles was in the Air Force and station in Big Spring, Texas from 1957 – 1963 where he served as an airman first-class.  He was a member of The American Legion.

On September 3, 1957, he married Reathia Lynetta (Nita) Russell in Madill, Oklahoma.  They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. 

Charles had many hobbies including playing softball, racing cars, watching wrestling, fishing and spending time at Surfside Beach with his family of seven children, their grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He was a boy scout leader and football coach to his sons.  Charles worked at Larkin as a machinist for 19 years and after working in the tire business for several years, started S&S Tires in 1986 and retired in 2003.  Charles loved working on cars and some of his prized possessions included his 1946 Chevrolet truck, 1964 Chevrolet Nova and 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.  He was an excellent machinist and could build and fix just about anything.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, son Ray Seymore, grandson Logan Seymore, and siblings Maurice Seymore, Ruth Ingram, and Betty Hayes.

He is survived by his wife Nita, children Lynn Seymore, Gay Brown and husband Rusty, Sharon Settlemyer and husband Eddie, Veronica Smith and husband Mike, Tobey Stoffregen and husband Dennis, Jon Seymore and wife Jenny; Shannon Seymore (daughter in law) grandchildren Ami Padgett,  Jordan Seymore, Maddison Hughes, Jeff Seymore, Joseph Wilkinson, Matt and Megan Brown, Tom Settlemyer, Ashley Johnson, Andy and Austin Smith, Dalton, Mason and Rylan Henzler, Carson Stoffregen, Lucas and Braxton Seymore, 22 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
