Charles Medenwaldt, age 73January 27, 1936June 5, 2009Mr. Medenwaldt passed away early Friday morning at his residence in Waxahachie. Charles was born at home in Richland County, North Dakota to Arthur and Louise Holst Medenwaldt. He very proudly served his country in the US Marines from 1954 to 1956 and was a self employed carpenter and farmer. Mr. Medenwaldt was a longtime Lutheran and a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church of Waxahachie. After his first wife's death he married Norma Kirkman, August 11, 1990 in DeSoto, Texas.He is survived by his wife Norma of Waxahachie, one son Keith Medenwaldt and his wife Cathy of Grandview, three daughters; Roberta Martin and her husband Hunkey of Fort Worth, Tami Longacre and her husband Donald of Seven Points, Rebecca Maners and her husband Jim of Hubbard, three grandsons; Justin and Clinton Medenwaldt both of Grandview, Charles Longacre and his wife Morgan of Seven Points, 2 grand daughters; Brandy Griffith and her husband Keith of White Settlement, and Caitlen Medenwaldt of Grandview, and 3 great grandchildren; Kylie, Hagyn and Caden. Also surviving are: three brothers; Dean Medenwaldt of Alexandria, Minnisota, Michael Medenwaldt and his wife Fran of Alvarado, Mark Medenwaldt and his wife Crystal of Sleepy Eye, North Dakota. Two sisters; Charlyn Brand of Mineapolis, Minn., Diane Bauman and her husband Walter of Arlington, TX and half sister Donna Bohn of Wapehton, North Dakota, Step daughters: Kelly Holdcroft and Kerry Gibson and her husband Jerry of Flower Mound as well as step grandchildren Avery, Lily and Jade.He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Donna.In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ the King Lutheran Church and Lighted Pathways Hospice are most welcome. A very special thank you to his most gifted and beloved caretaker Theresa Cruz, aide Bliss, nurses Amy, Sharon and Mayra, and Chaplains Jerry Bloomfield and Jerry Shepherd.The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 Monday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Waxahachie with Reverend Robert Hemsath officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery in Ovilla. Pallbearers will be:Jerry Gibson, Troy Bauman, Myron Werkmeister, Bill McPherson, Tim Medenwaldt, Charles Robert Longacre. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dennis Norum.
