Charles Griffin, Sr.

Charles Brennan Griffin, Sr., better known as "Pawpaw", passed away at his home on Sunday, June 19, 2016, Father's Day. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.

Charles was born on December 5, 1958 to Norman Lee and JoAnn (Raby) Griffin in Dallas, Texas. He was a man who loved Harleys and who loved his family even more. He was funny, always had everyone laughing. He was a friend, always lending an ear, a piece of advice, or a big hug. He was a biker, riding as often as he could until the pain and exhaustion was too much. He was a brother, you never had to doubt that he had your back. He was a chicken man, I think he considered his chickens an extension of his grandkids. He was a fighter, living his life many years longer than any of his doctors thought he would. He was Pawpaw, not only to his own grandchildren, but to any child in his presence. He was a father, and a good one, shown by the love his children had for him. He was a husband, he loved his wife with a love many of us can only dream of. Rest easy and ride hard Pops. We love you.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-laws, Garry Loubert and Janet Ann Toal; brother in-law, Butch Walton; and granddaughter, Krisstine Ann Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Gwen Coleman Griffin; 3 beautiful children, Crystal Dawn Griffin, Leighann Garcia and her husband, Michael Alexander Garcia, Sr., and Charles Brennan Griffin, Jr.; grandchildren, Kassie Dawn Griffin, Elizabeth Garcia, Karen Garcia, Michael Alexander Garcia, Jr., Kyle Brennan Griffin, Karleigh Ann Griffin, Khristopher Garry Griffin, and Kylie Nicole Griffin; brother, Jimmy Cambell; sister, Sandy Walton; brother in-law, Brad Toal and his wife, Carly, and their children, Kyliegh Brianne Toal and Austin Lane Toal; and best friends and God Parent's to their children, Sherry and David Howard.
