Charles Davenport

February 24, 1928 — May 3, 2016

Charles Frank Davenport, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Heaven opened up the doors to let Charles come home, his final time to take his place in our Father's house. Charles was born February 24, 1928 in rural Italy, Texas. He grew up and went to different schools in Ellis County. He joined the U. S. Army during the Korean War, serving from 1950 to 1953. He worked as a cook in the Army and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant.

Charles then came home to Italy and met the love of his life, Marie Fleeman and they were married in November of 1955 and resided in Italy. He retired from Best Foods and then went in to business for himself selling Davenport eggs at The Hen's Nest. Charles went on to have several business ventures and rental properties.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Alma Davenport; his grandparents, Ed and Clara Reeves.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Davenport; his nieces, Kay Fleeman and Sue Mellos; his brother in law, Chester Fleeman; his great niece, Stacie Fleeman Watson; his great great nephew and niece, Thomas Campbell and Sophia Watson; and numerous cousins.

Services are pending with Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
